Cousin Owen is here!

We are so glad to host Owen and his mom, Minette! I've packed Minette off to a masssage appointment and Will is napping, so I have this little dude all to myself - we're practicing our jumping and blogging.

William describes his barroom brawl with Mom's desk chair

So the chair comes at me, and I threw a right hook, like this...

But then I kind of fell over - I tried to catch myself with my hand, like this...

But it didn't work and so I bonked my cheek on the side of the chair leg, which made me very sad. See the bruise on my cheek?

Luckily, I got lots of attention... and felt better pretty soon.

William and Dodger: a growing relationship

Dodger, the "tat," is an object of fascination and joy.

Swim lesson at the Florida pool!

Will takes his swimming seriously.

Straight shark arms.

Practicing getting out of the pool - elbow elbow tummy knee knee

Come back here, Will!

It was a little bright and sunny in the pool...
Luckily Mom shared the shade from her hat.
We're so proud of William for being such a good swimmer!

Mom coaches William through an exposure to the ocean

Good job, William!!

Babes on the beach

Dad's new surfboard

Daddy time

Playing with cousin Madison

Madison is William's cousin - she is the daughter of Mark's sister Pilar and her husband Kevin. She's 13 months old here and just a little bit bigger than William. She is very advanced and can say "Mom," "Dad," and "ice." She also can crawl, scoot on one knee, or walk occasionally, as long as she is on carpet.

William was most enthralled both by Madison (who he found hilarious) and by Madison's play table, especially the special Cheerio compartment.

Here is William raiding the Cheerio compartment...

Smiling for Dad, who is off camera...

... note Cheerio in mouth below.

Who me? I'm just playing and maybe my hand fell into the Cheerio compartment.

Madison is not fooled by William's innocent look.

The play session ended with some acrobatics and an not-unexpected upending of the play table.

Thanks, Madison, for being such a great playmate and sharer!

William dips his toes in the ocean... and doesn't like it very much
